6 strategies for sexier dates

6 strategies for sexier dates

You've met someone you really like, and you share an intense attraction for one another. Congratulations!

Now how do you keep that chemistry alive?

You could be bold and risk your relationship by becoming too physical too fast, but since that isn't what true intimacy is all about, why not consider some other options? Try these six sultry strategies to make your date sexier:

1. Take a dip
Water is very sensuous and often associated with eroticism. Showing off your new bathing suit and some skin can be a real turn-on, so why not consider a day at the beach, the lake or even your local swimming pool? It's a fun date with plenty of activity and even some decent exposure.

2. Tempt your senses
Indian food is especially great, because of its beautifully pungent fragrances, tantalizing textures and sumptuous flavors. Thai food has similar qualities, but some people enjoy more common aphrodisiacs, like oysters and chocolate-covered cherries. Be daring and feed one another.

3. Share a steamy movie No, not that kind of movie! Instead think Kama Sutra or Eyes Wide Shut, both of which could add verve to your erotic vibe.

4. Explore erotica
Don't be taken in by some college students' faux reading. Plenty of gay and lesbian bookstores and literary groups sponsor erotica readings in most large cities. These groups inevitably draw some great talent, and hearing the work read aloud is, ahem... inspiring, to say the least. It's a fun way to get a little hot under the collar without ever removing your shirt.

5. Dance
I'm not encouraging a bump and grind on the dance floor that might have you renting a room, but dancing with someone to music you both enjoy is both sensual and romantic.

6. Create an amorous abode
There's nothing more romantic than having your partner over for a candlelit meal and some make-out music. Who says you have to go out to have a sexy date? Remember what Dorothy said in the Wizard of Oz? "Sometimes you don't have to look any further than you own backyard."
